New for 2024 is the inclusion of 2 spectacular trail runs as part of the XTERRA Dunsborough weekend – so now runners can be part of XTERRA’s Global Event Series
The 10km and 21km races will be conducted as standalone trail running events, run completely independently of the XTERRA triathlons (so you don’t need to swim or ride to be part of it!). But by being conducted alongside Australia’s largest off-road triathlon means there’ll be a greater event atmosphere, sponsors and event expo, race vibe and enthusiasm on the day. In fact we welcome triathletes racing on Saturday to double up and do the trail running events on Sunday.
The courses pass through some breathtaking landscapes including the famous Meelup Coastal Path, Castle Rock and the iconic Meelup beach, a mix of hinterland trails lined with wild flowers and the sculpted granite coastline of Geographe Bay. With a healthy mix of trails, beach, 4WD tracks and a small amount of rock hopping – these are amongst the most spectacular trail running courses ‘down south.
The 21km race will be an official qualifying event for the XTERRA Trail Running World Championships (the only qualifying event in Australia) allowing runners to be part of XTERRA’s global series and ranking system.
